Gary Horan

Rythm Guitar, Vocals

Gary started his career with Peace and Quiet as their light and sound guy. His heart and soul how ever was in playing and writing music. Gary was finally given the opportunity to replace an old rythmn guitarist many years ago. He is the most prolific song writer of the band. His songs generally tell a story and create memorable hooks on the songs. Gary has the ability to play many complex rythmns and with Doug and Walt establish are are extremely tight basis for Carls leads. Gary enjoys producing and editing video and has produced several DVD's of the band's live performances. From Orem Utah. Graduated from Orem High. College at SUSC in Cedar City, Utah. Worked with Manufacturing Companies, labor and management. Built thousands of cable boxes and computer chassis.

Got my first guitar at 5 years old and taught myself to play. My first band was in my friends basement were we played Black Sabboth, Led Zepplin and the blues. The drummers last name was Lang, his brother was the Cory of Mountain. It was just a Jr. High jam band that never made it out of the house. Performed with my 12 string Harmony during my College days at school functions and a side stage at a dinner for two years. Did sound and lights with Survival (Doug, Walt and Carl), We turned into Peace and Quiet and in 1981 I retired the light show and took the job at rhythm guitar with the band. My first song was in my High School days called "Rosie". I dabbed into poetry, short stories and one Novel. Something to keep me busy. My influinces would be "The Britsh Invasion" that brought Kinks, Animals, Yardbirds, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Dave Clark Five, all those fun bands. I had a big love for Motown when I was in elementary school. But the old classic rock, blues and Southern Blues is at the Heart. My love is the Delta Blues. I listen to a lot of Johnny Winters, Muddy Waters, Leslie West, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Almond Brothers.
