Doug Salter

Bass, Keyboard, vocals

Doug believes in a "big sound" and has tons of equipment to establish that pounding and driving bass line which Peace & Quiet is famous for. Doug along with Gary and Walt, hold the band's tight rhythm licks together. With his tight bass runs and his influences from the likes of Paul McCartney and Jack Bruce, his bass lines are both rememberable and easy to rock to. Doug is a perfectionist and it shows in his playing and contributions to the band. Doug also has played since the late 60's and has been in many bands before Peace and Quiet.

He was born in southern California in the early 50's, moved to Ogden Utah when he was eight, started taking guitar lessions when he was 14, At the age of 15, he and six otheres crammed into a '57 Chevy and went to California from Utah to compete in the NMA Music Talent Show. He switched to Bass Guitar right after the talent show because he had the least expensive guitar. He has been playing Bass ever since. Lately, he has picked up a little keyboard playing to add to the produced sound of the Peace & Quiet. Dough joined Peace & Quiet Band in the early 70's and has been with Walt, Carl and Gary ever since. Music is a huge part of his life. He loves to perform live and also doing recording sessions in the studio.
