Carl Fritch

Lead Guitar

Carl started playing guitar around age 17 when his family moved to Alaska. Since he really didn't have any friends, he spent most of his waking moments practicing his $20.00 Woolworth guitar his father gave him for Christmas. He still has that guitar. Back then there wasn't any guitar tabs or song books that would show you how to play music. You had to painfully listen to the music and figure out what was being played. His greatest influences were the greats, Jimmie Hendrix and Eric Clapton. He would learn their songs as close to the record as he could. He was is several bands in Alaska and then moved to Utah around 1973 where he formed and played in several moderately successful bands.

Around 1975 he had a chance to join the popular local group, Eqinox. Both Doug Salter and Walt Jones were members of that band that later changed their name to the popular local band Survival. When Survival broke up in 1978 Walt and Carl joined the very well know group Peace & Quiet. Carl is the visionary of the band and is always pushing the band in musical directions he thinks they needs to move. He has a knack for knowing what audiences want to hear. He really loves MIDI and sequencing and has so many sequences it''\s hard to count them all. He would rather be a singer than a guitar player at this point and does a lot of solo gigs with just his sequencer and guitar.
